Seedling number BT97-06. First propagated 1987. Parentage unknown; sibling to ‘Bouquet Perfect’. Technically an ANEMONE form, it would be shown as JAPANESE at exhibition. Dark pink buds open to lovely 5½ inch (14 cm) flowers held a few inches above a dense compact plant with dark green, disease resistant foliage. The 10-12 lavender-pink guard petals have a silvery white cast to the edges as the flower matures and hold their cupped form as the bloom ages. The stamens are transformed to petaloids which are creamy, flushed amber pink in the center, flattened and cupped, each having a finely laced edge highlighted by a bright gold accent when freshly opened. Three side buds extend the mid-season bloom. Rosy-red stigmas are normally feathered. No pollen or seeds noted. Fragrance is mild and pleasing. It has shown excellent bud and plant hardiness during extreme weather conditions during pre-bloom and bloom season. No loss of bloom or foliage damage during several severe springs making it a vigorous variety adapted to adverse weather. Self-supporting upright growth to 30 inches (75 cm) at maturity.
