Seedling No. NB8. Parentage: ‘Fuchsia Ruffles’ x ‘Harvest Peach’. Advanced generation Lutea hybrid. First bloomed 2010, first propagated 2012. Certificate of Merit at APS 2016 Exhibition. SEMI-DOUBLE TO DOUBLE flowers, 6½ inches in size (16½ cm), 1 or 2 per stem. Petals highly ruffled, lavender-pink, with cream base. As flowers age they begin to fade and outer petals become lighter in color. Maroon flares extend ¼ of petals’ length. On average 4-5 carpels, green, sparsely hairy, having darker lavender-pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Pollen-bearing stamens, the filaments reddish-lavender at the base, becoming lighter at the tip. Fertile both ways. Flowers are held facing up and outward. Deep green foliage typical of most advanced generation lutea hybrids. Light red shading on upper surface of petioles. Upright growth to 4 feet (122 cm) with foliage to the ground. As they mature, plants produce a broad mound shape with numerous ground shoots. Named for the plant’s powerful growth habit and beautiful basic coloration of the flowers.
