Seedling Seidl #SH222. Parentage: ‘Age of Gold’ x ‘Rosalind Elsie Franklin’. First bloomed early 2000’s, propagated since 2008. Has had prior distribution under number and name as here registered. Advanced generation lutea hybrid. Many-petalled SEMI-DOUBLE. Large flower (7 inches; 18 cm), highly ruffled, light cream-yellow with pink highlights. Red flares with bleeding edge extending a third of the way up the petals. One flower per stem, occasionally a side-bud. Carpels smooth, green, average of 4, with light cream-pink stigmas. Pink sheath; stamens with red filaments. Produces seed, no pollen. Height to 36 inches (91 cm). Plants are mound shaped and have very attractive wide foliage. A sibling and somewhat like ‘Theresa Anne’, but plants are shorter in stature and flowers are larger and more cream yellow based. Named for the daughter of one of Bill’s close peony friends.
