Xiaofei Kang, and Chunlei Zhao, 2024, herbaceous hybrid. Parentage: ‘Old Faithfulr’ x ‘Lemon Chiffon’. First bloomed 2023, first propagated 2023. Midseason blooming SINGLE flowers are a light-salmon color, 10 cm (4”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are rounded, cupped, and average 3 cm (1.2”) in width. Fragrant. Four sparsely hairy carpels are yellowish-green, and carry light-pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2 cm (0.5-0.75”) in length, with red filaments that fade to cream-yellow at the tips. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 60 cm (23.6”) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, green foliage. Foliage at the time of emergence is a reddish-green. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. The name means “summer fantasy”, for the flower color and flowering period. On a summer morning, this herbaceous peony blooms with champagne-colored flowers that are freeing and dreamy.
