Roberto Gamoletti – 2023. Parentage: ‘Fairfield’ x ‘Blushing Princess’. First bloomed 2015, first propagated 2018. Midseason blooming DOUBLE flowers are white (RHS N155B, fading to 155D), with a flush of light pink (RHS 155D) at the base of petals that bestows a feeling of greater depth to the blossom. Flowers are 14-16cm (5.5-6.25″) in diameter, are upward facing, and carry one primary with four to five lateral buds per stem. Cupped and notched guard petals average 6cm (2.3″) in diameter and are arranged in two rows that encircle a mass of krinkled, twisted, and ruffled inner petallage. No fragrance noted. Flowers possess on average three sparsely hairy, green carpels with red stigmas of normal anatomy. Filaments are yellow-green. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 80-100cm (31.5-40″) at maturity, and carry broad-pointed, green foliage that obscures stems to the ground. Growth habit is upright, and mechanical support is unnecessary. Flowers are well-displayed above the foliage, and the high number of laterals greatly extends the overall flowering season for this cultivar. Named with regard to the unexpected flower color for the offspring of a ruby-red pod parent.
