Today the peony world has lost a great man; Don Hollingsworth passed away at a blessed age. He was the founder and owner of Hollingsworth nursery before it was sold. A great hybridizer of peonies and prolific contributor to many peony discussions, you can find many very informative articles within the APS Bulletins or the Paeonia newsletters. If the yahoo groups hadn’t been removed, you’d find innumerable ones there as well. No doubt an extensive obituary will appear in a forthcoming APS Bulletin.

On a personal note: Don was the person who has introduced me to the peony hybidizing world a long time ago, has assisted me on my first steps there and was always one of the most friendly and helpful people I have known. I’m very sure many other hybridizers and peony growers will have that same experience. I’m grateful to have known him.
