Paeonia daurica ssp daurica. Sometimes known as the ‘Crimean Peony’ (although there is also P. tenuifolia growing there). Old names P. triternata or even P. corallina triternata. According to Hong this species grows there but also in Turkey and westwards to former Yugoslavia. The Crimean version is known to have wavy leaflets (much more than my plant in fact). It is a diploid species growing at lower altitudes, alway very early to flower. The leaflets are short and somewhat rounded at the top. As it is supposed to grow at many localities, many clones may look somewhat different from each other. This plant was acquired from Janis Ruksans from Lithuania.
