Paeonia broteri. Nice glossy foliage, good stem strength, pretty flower. Does need drier soil, several plants lost due to somewhat long periods of rain previous year and Winter.

Worked like a charm this time. Rooted seeds of nearly all ‘difficult’ samples and almost all of them looking perfectly healthy.
From these last series, they’ve received a long warm period and will now go into cold storage. Here the two extremes in seed size: P. ludlowii (or a hybrid with P. lutea/delavayi) versus P. tenuifolia (P. biebersteinia). The latter one is quite prone to rootlet rot is my experience, but no problem this time.
It’s almost certain you’re going to waste a lot of time when a software developing company releases an ‘update’. hier bei mir ( Deutschland Mittelgebirge ) sehr früh im Austrieb – früher als P. mairei – und auch sehr empfindlich bei nasskalter Witterung . Habe eine P. broteri aufnehmen müssen , Faulstellen and der Wurzel weggeschnitten und die verbliebenen 2 Teilstücke getopft .
