Early hybrids are blooming (Vanilla Schnapps, Ballerina, Pink Vanguard, Grand Massive…). Still too early for Red Charm. Pictures show a field of previously selected and propagated seedlings that eventually weren’t good enough. Six years old, so fully mature. Still a pretty sight I think.
Peony Forever Yours. A young plant grown in a hoop house. It tolerated the heat very well.

P. obovata hybrid. With tomentose carpels this must be a garden hybrid. Much easier growing compared to the true species.

Not completely sure what this is. Received it as ‘unknown’, but from wild collected seeds in former Yugoslavia. P. velebitensis, P. mascula, P. daurica? This is a first year plant so it may well change the following years, perhaps then I’ll be able to tell what it is, but I find it already rather attractive.
