  • Paeonia emodi. A plant wild collected in Pakistan. It didn’t grow too well before and was replanted last Autumn. Seems to do better now and it bloomed for the very first time here. Not sure if it is due to the replanting, but the sepals don’t really show those long ‘tails’ (caudate) and the bud was more rounded than pointed as I’m used to in this species. The flower was also more upright than I’m used to. Next year will be interesting to see if those characteristics remain or not. There was one carpel which I selfed, it has grown much since then and I expect to have some seeds of it.
