The American Peony Society just sent me their latest Bulletin. Lately they have done a lot of effort to make membership more attractive than ever before. Their website did receive a full revamp and for the future all past Bulletins wil become available online for members. That’s quite a treasure when you’re really into peonies. The latest bulletin features articles on many issues relating to peonies: “Appreciating molecular genomics”, “Digging ‘Prosperity Maud'”, “The Grant Garden at Root Glen, Hamilton College” and “Woody Paeonia, part 7: Grafting success” are all in it, next to the usual new cultivar registrations (a lot of them), some more info on the planned APS national convention, an obituary for Jose Velazquez (Song Sparrow Nursery) and the activity reports of regional societies.

There are some new options for membership, especially interesting for non-US residents, that make use of the possibility to read their bulletin online only. I’d say it’s worth its’ money.
