Paeonia japonica. Needs a lot of shade. Slow increase. Most greenish buds I’ve seen in species.

Many years ago I got my first plants of P. caucasica grown from seeds I had received from Will McLewin (UK). One of the seedlings was different from all others. Paeonia daurica ssp daurica (P. triternata). Rather small, short, somewhat wavy leaflets. Early flowering.

Paeonia broteri. Nice glossy foliage, good stem strength, pretty flower. Does need drier soil, several plants lost due to somewhat long periods of rain previous year and Winter.

hier bei mir ( Deutschland Mittelgebirge ) sehr früh im Austrieb – früher als P. mairei – und auch sehr empfindlich bei nasskalter Witterung . Habe eine P. broteri aufnehmen müssen , Faulstellen and der Wurzel weggeschnitten und die verbliebenen 2 Teilstücke getopft .
