  • I am posting an image of Andreas Maschke (B3) flowering in my garden. Very nice plant, herbaceous in appearance, very similar to its pollen parent. The flowers have pollen and carpels.
I have used its pollen on so called fertile itohs to increase the tree peony characters and obtain fertile backcrosses. I tried it also on herbaceous hybrids like…Read More

    • @roberto Have you obtained any seedlings from the cross Itohs x B3?

      • I have tried B3 pollen on several itohs such as Watermelon Wine, Belle Tolousaine, Sonoma Rosy Future, Gordon Simonsen but no seeds yet. This year I have tried also the same pollen on Golden Experience. Results if any will be visible in a couple of months. I do not want to cross these RIBC2 with herbaceous hybrids because it increases the…Read More

    • @roberto I forgot to answer your question about my results hybridizing with this, sorry. Now that I see this post again I suddenly remember…

(Big Jhonny x open) double pink x B3: 9 seedlings
      (Old Faithful x Grand Massive)001 x B3: 2 small ones
      (Pink Vanguard x Buoy…Read More

  • I planted a portion of Flevo Star this early spring and it took well and made a couple of main buds. My interest is the foliage so I have crossed it with Sparkling Windflower. The other flower and the laterals were left to open pollination. I would be interested in knowîng about fertility of Flevo Star both as pod and pollen parent. Any…Read More

    • Flevo Star has some fertility. Maybe some effort is needed but I have raised some 20-30 seedlings until yet. I never have used the pollen for hybridisation.

    • For nice and beautiful foliage I would recommend to cross it with Salmon Dream.
Sparkling Windflower has a nodding flower, bad colour and louzy habitus.

  • Fairfield x Little Dorritt is a very vigorous and fast increasing peony. The stems do not require support. The flowers are single, two rows of petals, with abundant stamens but there is no scattering of pollen. The color of petals keeps well.
I am posting a close up image of the flower
