We have been working with peonies for more than 49 years and are still learning. We have visited them in their natural habitat on our travels, admired them in botanical gardens, discovered them in the private gardens of members of the German Perennial Plant Society (Gesellschaft der Staudenfreunde (GdS)), and acquired them from nurseries until we finally sowed them ourselves and watched them bloom. We have reported about our experiences primarily in the gardening journal “Gartenpraxis” of Ulmer Verlag and in other gardening magazines. We also sent some articles and obituaries to the APS. Friends have advised us on selecting the most beautiful and healthy plants.
