Paeonia kesrouanensis in Lebanon, Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve (50 km NE of Beirut, in the Mountains)khurtekant posted in the group Species Peonies International Network (SPIN)
Paeonia x litvinskajae (P. wittmanniana x P. caucasica). Except for the colour, very much alike P. wittmanniana. Not much pink in this plant, but it does have a nice greenish yellow shine in bud, which then fades into something milky white.

P. caucasica itself. All different plants, from selected mothers, ranging from pale pink to dark red, these seedlings nearly all flower dark reddish pink. Leaflets rather variable, small or large, wavy or flat, narrow or wide. All leaves made up of 9 leaflets though (3+3+3).

Amirani (unregistered). P. caucasica x unknown. Flowers at the same time as P. caucasica. More leaflets than that species.
A new book by Gail Harland. Don’t know yet if it’s good, have only glanced through it for a few minutes. It seems well researched with a long overview of the species. The history of the peony also and the use of them in art. When I’m through reading it, I can perhaps tell some more.
