Seedling No. UHS 56. First year bloomed 2015, first year propagated 2016. Parentage not given. Early/Mid season bloom. SINGLE. One bloom per stem, garnet red, size 5½ inches (14 cm), fragrant. Two rows of large petals (2¼ inches wide (5¾ cm)), somewhat convoluted but not unduly so, the effect is to add visual volume and dynamic interest to the flower. Carpels green, stigmas cream colored. Pollen-bearing stamens, filaments pink. Fertile, makes seeds. Staminodal disc well developed, white. Foliage emerges burgundy to green, leaflet edges somewhat ruffled at maturity. Upright growth habit, height 26 inches (66 cm), support not needed.
